Where is the affirmation of Eternity?
Humans are strong,
They all have willpower.
They are capable of strength, wisdom, courage, and love.
Yet I always wonder,
If we are that powerful then why do we die?
Why in times of illness, depression, and loneliness…we die?
Why our bodies when blistered,
Penetrated by gun bullets, swords, and chemicals, we all die?
Why should we grow old and deteriorate?
Youthful glow slowly diminished
Skin, bone, and memories no longer supported,
Our bodies rotting as time passes by.
People happy and alive
The first thing they do is laugh like that beautiful little girl,
eyes like of an angel glistening as she play under the sun
Now she’s in an ICU with Death knocking on her soul,
Taking her away.
That man, my neighbor.
Breadwinner of his family
Strong and brave suddenly had a stroke.
It all happened so fast.
From the tubes and wires inserted all over
His body in a coma, now he’s gone.
Do tell me, where is the affirmation of eternity?
