Product Review: San Miguel Ethyl Alcohol with Moisturizer

Hello again everyone! I hope everyone’s having a great time in life wherever you all are.

So…I am here today to give Home Tester Club a piece of my mind about the product they sent me hehehe. Kidding aside, I love Home Tester Club for sending me amazing products to test. Until now I am using at home even months and years after I tested their initial product.

Let me share a little bit about the product from Ginebra San Miguel Inc. Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI) is the maker of the world’s largest selling gin Ginebra San Miguel, and the hard liquor arm of San Miguel Corporation (SMC), the largest and most diverse conglomerate in the Philippines.

Front of the Bottle

San Miguel Ethyl Alcohol contains 70% ethyl alcohol and can kill 99.9% of germs. It is naturally derived from sugarcane that is why it is safe to use on food contact surfaces such as utensils, dining surfaces, and sanitizing hands before eating. San Miguel Ethyl Alcohol also has a refreshing scent and a moisturizing ingredient that makes it gentle on the skin while it protects against disease-causing bacteria and viruses.

Available in 250 ml, 500 ml and 1-liter bottles, and 20-liter tank.

I am a lover of Ethyl and Isopropyl Alcohol even before Covid-19 happened. My bag and home is never without it because I have a weak immune system and we are always in constant battle with bacteria, viruses and germs and having this as a first line of defense (aside from my maintenance medications and multi-vitamins) gives me peace of mind. The importance of having these alcohols became evident when the pandemic started to the point that companies that never make rubbing and antiseptic alcohols started making them to fill in the growing demands of people around the world whose main goal during the start of covid-19 is to protect themselves and their families.

Home Tester Club Philippines sent me a 500 ML (Around 19 oz.) bottle of San Miguel 70% Solution Rubbing Alcohol with Moisturizer to use within 5 days before I write a review and here’s my thoughts, observation and final opinion about it.

Bottle and Cap: Very sturdy bottle, not too soft, well made and cylindrical in shape (which for me is a great thing because that way, the weight is evenly distributed (Meaning the bottle will not easily tumble or topple down the table or any surface. The cap is also well made that it snaps lock to avoid spills.

Liquid: very clear and has no residue inside the bottle. To those with children and pets, please make sure this is out of their reach because it looks like water.

Scent: Very mild and not “nose offending”. We have alcohols in the market that when you open the bottle you’ll smell like clean hospital. This one smells very mild like I just came out of the shower so this is a plus factor for me because even if I slather it all over my body, people won’t think I showered the alcohol all over my body, lol.

Feel: I love that it keeps my skin moisturized even after I use it. Some alcohols in the market are drying and on the duration of using this product, it leaves my hands and skin silky soft. Just don’t mistake the product as a lotion because once you wash your hands, the effect is gone. It is only used as an antiseptic/disinfectant.

Back of the bottle with details

Final Verdict:

Will I buy this again? YES!

Will I recommend this to my friends and Family? YES!

Rating: 5 out of 5

  1. Well, you gotta admire them for shifting to a more viable resource this pandemic! Naalala ko tuloy yung Destileria Limtuaco (the makers of White Castle Whisky) na nag-shift ng production to rubbing alcohol noong nag-lockdown dito sa atin.
